PVDF Coating

PVDF is a true thermoplastic with very high chemical resistance. A two coat powder coating system about 350 µm thick is a lining which is very suitable for the chemical plant. PVDF is easily processable with very good chemical and aging resistance inflammable and excellent abrasion resistance with max usable temperature of 140ºC. The chemical resistance of PVDF is very high. It resists conditions, usually regarded as aggressive. The polymer resists most chemical environments and is attacked only by strong hot oxidizing acids, fluorine and some aromatic amines. The major restriction with chemical resistance is due to the fact that the coatings are thin. PVDF is not microporous like PTFE, but like all thermoplastics, it has a finite permeability, particularly to small molecules.
